EPC & O&M for Data Center Generators
USP&E delivers exclusive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction plus Operations & Maintenance for hyperscale and industrial data center power plants. From modular FX-45 blocks to surplus aeroderivative fleets and reciprocating generation, we own the outcome — Powering Projects with Reliability that unlocks Possibility.
Extreme Ownership, End to End
Fragmented delivery is the enemy of speed-to-power. Separate turbine brokers, civil contractors, electrical houses, and O&M startups create interface gaps that show up as change orders and missed COD dates. USP&E’s model is Extreme Ownership: one accountable organization for design, buy, build, commission, and operate.
Our 400+ engineers and project managers work from Shanghai, Dubai, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Cairo, Bamako, London, USP&E, and Knoxville. That footprint exists so local codes, logistics, and labor realities are handled by people who already operate in those environments — while global standards keep documentation and QA consistent.
Engineering
We start with load truth: IT MW, cooling, redundancy (N+1, 2N), island vs parallel grid, and fuel certainty. Deliverables typically include single-line diagrams, protection studies, site layouts, P&IDs for fuel and cooling, civil packages, and controls architecture. For FX-45 and other modular packages, engineering focuses on repeatable blocks so later phases reuse proven drawings.
- Power system studies and utility coordination support
- Fuel gas and dual-fuel system design
- Balance of plant mechanical and electrical
- Environmental and acoustic inputs for permitting teams
Procurement
USP&E accesses 2000 MW+ of new and surplus gas turbines and reciprocating generators through owned positions, exclusive representation, and direct owner relationships. Procurement is not catalog shopping; it is securing the right machine class for frequency, voltage, fuel, and schedule — then locking BOP long-leads (transformers, switchgear, fuel conditioning) on the same critical path.
Near-term projects pull from live inventory. Growth phases can reserve FX-45 modular slots from 2028. Mixing both is often the fastest path to a fully powered campus.
Construction & Commissioning
Construction covers foundations, mechanical set, electrical termination, fuel tie-ins, fire protection interfaces, and SCADA. Commissioning follows a disciplined sequence: cold checks, first fire, load acceptance, protection proving, and reliability runs. Speed with Excellence means we compress calendars without skipping hold points that protect equipment life and operator safety.
Operations & Maintenance
Data center generators only create value if they stay available. USP&E O&M ranges from full 24/7 staffing to maintenance-only support where the client operates day-to-day. Typical elements include preventive schedules, predictive diagnostics, spare parts strategy, fuel switching drills, and monthly performance reporting.
- Availability-oriented contracts aligned to campus uptime culture
- Remote monitoring with defined on-site response
- Hot section and major outage planning across multi-unit fleets
- Training so client operators inherit Extreme Ownership habits
Commercial Models
- Turnkey EPC: client-owned asset, USP&E delivers to COD
- BOO / BOOT with PPA: USP&E finances and operates; campus buys power
- Hybrid: client owns; USP&E provides long-term O&M
Structure follows capital preference, balance-sheet goals, and energization date — not a one-size template.
